Job description

Join us in Revolutionizing Supply Chains

We’re looking for a passionate HR & People professional based in the Netherlands who is eager to make an impact and contribute to a growing team within a fast-scaling software company.

About Simvia

We are committed to transforming global supply chains, making them more transparent, sustainable, and safe. Our team is building the world’s largest food and beverage network to empower buyers, retailers, and wholesalers with insights that ensure food safety and sustainability. Together, we are enabling trade to become a force for good once again. With a dynamic team of 65+ people from more than 28 nationalities, we currently manage €100 billion in agricultural goods and serve clients across 100 countries.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on and people-oriented Interim HR & People Manager to support our People & Culture function during a temporary replacement period. The preferred start date for this role is mid July/ August, allowing for a proper handover period with the current HR Manager. During this transition phase, responsibilities and operational tasks may gradually be transferred to the interim professional to ensure continuity and a smooth takeover. In this position, you will initially work closely with the current HR Manager and later take ownership of the day-to-day People operations. You will temporarily replace and support the People Manager for a period of at least 6-8 months, with a possibility of extension. This is a broad operational and coordinating role for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic international environment and is comfortable balancing HR administration, employee support, payroll coordination, visa processes, and sensitive people-related cases. We are looking for someone who can quickly build trust, keep processes running smoothly, and bring structure and care during a busy period.

Responsibilities:

People Operations & HR Administration

  • Manage and oversee day-to-day personnel administration processes;

  • Prepare, review and manage employment contracts, amendments, letters and other HR documentation;

  • Ensure employee files, HR systems and personnel records are accurate, complete and up to date;

  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes together with relevant managers and the Office Manager;

  • Support employees and managers with practical HR-related questions;

  • Identify opportunities to improve or simplify operational HR processes.

Visa, Relocation & International Employee Support

  • Coordinate and support visa, work permit and immigration-related processes;

  • Act as a point of contact for international employees on practical HR and employment-related matters;

  • Work with external advisors or service providers where required;

Employee Cases & HR Processes

  • Support managers and employees in people-related cases, including absence, burnout, reintegration and performance improvement processes;

  • Help structure and document performance improvement plans and follow-up actions;

  • Provide practical and caring HR support while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality and compliance;

People Team Collaboration

  • Coordinate and manage priorities within the People & Culture function during the replacement period;

  • Work closely with the Office Manager on operational People topics;

  • Collaborate with Finance and Operations on cross-functional employee-related matters;

  • Ensure continuity, clear communication and prioritization within the People team;

  • Help maintain a positive, structured and supportive employee experience during the interim period.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone who combines strong HR operational experience with a proactive, hands-on and people-oriented mindset.

You ideally bring:

  • Proven experience in HR Operations, People Operations, HR Management or a similar role;

  • Strong experience with personnel administration and operational HR processes;

  • Experience supporting payroll processes and working with payroll input;

  • Experience with visa, work permit or international employee processes is a strong plus;

  • The ability to work independently, take ownership quickly and bring structure to a broad role;

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with at times a high workload;

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail;

  • A caring and approachable personality;

  • The ability to balance empathy with professionalism and clear process management;

  • Experience in an international, scale-up or SaaS environment is preferred;

  • Availability for at least 7 months, ideally longer.

Who you are:

You are a proactive and reliable HR professional who enjoys being close to the business and the team. You are comfortable switching between administrative detail, employee conversations, process coordination and urgent operational topics. You naturally take ownership, notice what needs to be done and do not wait for everything to be handed to you. At the same time, you are warm, people-oriented and able to support employees and managers with care and discretion. You thrive in an international and fast-moving environment, where priorities can change and where structure, pragmatism and clear communication are essential. You are not afraid of a high workload, but you know how to prioritize, keep an overview and ensure the most important People processes continue to run smoothly.
