Job description

Join us in Revolutionizing Supply Chains
We’re a fast-growing SaaS scale-up on a mission to shape a sustainable future for the food industry. With four years of continuous 100% year-on-year growth, our team is expanding quickly. We’re looking for a proactive, highly organised Recruiter to help us find the people who will drive that growth, and to help shape how we work as we scale. Join us and shape the future of food sustainability with us!

About Simvia

Ensuring responsible supply chains is one of the largest challenges of our time. At Simvia we are on a path to enable the food and consumer goods industry to become a force for good, by making it simple to prove that what we eat and use is safe, compliant, and sustainable.

Several of Europe's largest retailers, from Albert Heijn to Edeka, have joined Simvia together with their suppliers, and our network now spans more than 200,000 suppliers in 130 countries. AI gives us a strong tailwind: our network holds unique data, and much of the manual work in compliance can now be automated. We are growing rapidly and keep scaling with a driven, international team of 75+ people in the heart of Amsterdam.

About this role

You will be our first in-house Recruiter. There is no recruitment playbook yet, so you build it: the process, the guardrails and the habits that let us hire fast and well as we scale. That calls for someone who thinks "I'll find a way" rather than "what's the rule here?"

Sourcing is the heart of the job. Most of your impact comes from finding and convincing great people who were not looking. Every person you bring in shapes the company we become, so we want someone who lives our culture, not only someone who can describe it.

Who thrives here

Our culture is driven and kind, and it only works if you bring both.

Driven by the mission. You set ambitious goals, own the outcome, and welcome a high bar.

Frank. You say what you think and would rather hear the truth than a comfortable story.

Open. You ask for feedback and change your mind when the facts change.

Trusting. You build real relationships and give others room to own their work.

If this sounds more draining than energizing, that is a useful signal too.

What you will work on

  • Sourcing and approaching great people across sales, customer success, product and engineering, through LinkedIn, referrals and cold calls, so most of our hires come from you rather than agencies

  • Building our recruitment process from scratch: clear steps, interview templates and scorecards that every hiring manager follows

  • Running several hiring processes at once, from role profile to signed offer, with candidates always knowing where they stand

  • Holding hiring managers, senior leaders included, to agreed timelines and fast feedback

  • Tracking time to hire, source effectiveness and funnel conversion, and using the numbers to improve how we hire

  • Helping our People & Culture team with in-house events and office life in quieter hiring periods

What you bring

  • 3+ years as a recruiter, in-house or agency, with hires across SaaS or tech roles from sales to R&D

  • Real sourcing strength: direct approach and cold calls give you energy, and you can point to hires you found yourself

  • A builder's mindset: you enjoy setting up processes, templates and guardrails where none exist yet

  • Highly organized: you run many roles and steps at once without dropping anything

  • You enjoy speed, and you are assertive with senior stakeholders while staying warm with candidates

  • You already use AI and automation in your work and are curious about the next tool

  • Fluent English, written and spoken

Nice to have

  • German and/or Dutch, German being the most useful

  • Experience in a start-up or scale-up

  • Experience with an ATS and LinkedIn Recruiter

What we offer

  • A high-paced organization with room to grow your career

  • A meaningful mission: help the food and consumer goods industry become a force for good

  • Training and support, a pension contribution and travel reimbursement

  • Fresh lunch every day, monthly Thirsty Thursdays, hackathons, boat parties and our annual dance event

  • At least three days per week in our Amsterdam city center office, with two rooftop terraces

How we hire

An intro call with our People & Culture team, a conversation with the hiring manager, an assignment, a culture conversation and an offer. Every process includes an assignment, because we would rather see your work than hear about it. We move fast and keep you informed at every step.

Diversity & Inclusion at Simvia

We hire people with different backgrounds, cultures, and views because it makes our work better. Whoever you are, wherever you are from, whoever you love and whatever you believe in, you are welcome here.
